UDVBC
A Team
I have played for UDVBC, specifically the A team, all four years at UD. I have loved being able to continue playing the sport I love, travel to new places, and meet so many amazing people. Attending nationals has been one of the highlights of my time here because I was able to see so many old friends, cheer on the UD mens team, and just experience the excitement that everyone brought from around the country. Having been playing volleyball for almost 20 years, I could not imagine my life without volleyball.
Fundraising Chair
I held the executive board fundraising chair position for the 2020-2021 school year. Within this role I was responsible for holding fundraisers throughout the year with the goal of helping to fund the A team's trip to nationals. Other funds raised also helped us buy new equipment and plan team bonding events. Just like when I was the fundraising chair for AΩE, I learned a lot about money management and how to work with organizations on planning fundraisers and encouraging people to attend events.
Apparel Chair
For the 2021-2022 school year, I held the apparel chair executive board position. I was responsible for designing the team's apparel each semester including normal merchandise, homecoming shirts, St. Patricks Day shirts, graduation apparel, and nationals clothing. This position allowed me to be a lot more creative and more outside the box thinking than any other positions I have held. There is something really cool about seeing people wear items you designed.
UDance
As a member of the club volleyball team, I helped raise money for UDance to support the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation for the past four years. At the end of a year of fundraising, the 12 hour long dance marathon is held to celebrate the B+ heroes and the students' fundraising efforts. Each fundraising team is paired with a B+ hero and ours was Reena. One of my favorite parts of participating in UDance was getting to know her, her family, and supporting her such as at her volleyball games.
