Hi! My name is Tori Reiner and this is my journey as a student at the University of Delaware.
In the last few years, I have had the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of clubs, programs, and classes that have helped shape who I am today. As you move though my website, each experience I describe has had a unique impact on my life and I am grateful for each and everyone.
The Mission
As a student at the University of Delaware, I will use my time to grow my self awareness, further develop myself as a leader in my community, and help create a welcoming and encouraging environment for my fellow students. With an emphasis on leadership, education, and relationships, I aim to create lasting connections and a strong foundation for myself as I build my future.
LEADERSHIP
Leadership has always been something I valued, but never truly understood the importance of until I started college. It isn't just about being the person in charge, it is so much deeper than that. Through years of leadership development in the Blue Hen Leadership Program (BHLP), I now have a clear idea of what it means to be a leader that has benefited me in the many roles I have taken on over the last four years.
EDUCATION
While education is the reason that I came to the University of Delaware, my time here has shown me that learning does not just happen in a classroom. The things I have learned about biomedical engineering will benefit me for years to come, but so will all the things I have learned from hands-on experiences and observed in and out of a typical education setting. Through all of my clubs and activities, I have come to look for opportunities to learn and grow from every situation, both good and bad.
RELATIONSHIPS
Nothing I have done in my life so far would have been worth it if I was not able to share it with all those who have supported me through it all. The people that have become my best friends, mentors, mentees, sisters, and so on have taught me the importance of having strong relationships and shown me the impact that they can have in all aspects of one's life.
The Vision
Advancing the field of women's healthcare and providing assistance to all people on their way to a happy and healthy life.
Within the next year, I will have graduated with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Delaware, be preparing to apply for medical school, and gaining real world experience through work, new relationships, and travel.
1 Year
Within the next five years, I hope to have been accepted and attending medical school and preparing to move into the next phase of becoming a practicing physician. I anticipate having a clear vision of those who will support me along the way and where I will end up.
1-5 Years
After having completed all the requirements to be a practicing physician, I hope to have found my niche in progressing women's healthcare and have created a name for myself. I also envision having found the place and people that I will call home.
